Digital OperationsDrafting & ManipulationData from the scanning process is aligned and polygonized using sophisticated modeling software. A virtual model is produced which can be manipulated in an infinite number of ways. The size of an object can be increased or decreased by altering the scale of the model. Models can be bent, twisted, or otherwise distorted. Parts can be removed, and disparate objects can be joined. The possibilities are limitless and we look forward to the opportunity of exploring them with the artist. 3d models, once polygonized, can be used to create drafted blueprints and other images which become useful for other phases of a project. We also can produce 3d drawings based on either hand sketches or other design software. Models that we draft, as well as models drafted in a wide range of software, can be imported and then produced using our CNC machines. Virtual models have become an irreplaceable tool for the planning and engineering of large scale projects. Structural requirements can be calculated and designed well before the piece is even produced. This advancement allows us to anticipate and therefore remedy any architectural or sculptural issues that may arise with a project. Complications and budget problems can be avoided by pre-engineering projects in their digital form, rather than having to redo work that has already been built. |
